Locomotive's controlling and recording device could eolleet,Proeess, reeord all data of train in real time, and insure the locomotive to go under the hypothesis secure state. After the locomotive reaches the station, the engineer downloads the data of locomotive movement by the IC card of trainman and gives the card to the administrative department. Then, technicians save and analyze the data in the system of information processing. However, with the development of rail way career in China and the advance of the demand for supervision of departments of railway, the actual function of the device has not satisfied of demand for administrative departments. The way of supervision lacks for real time and perception nature for managers. They could neither gain the information of locomotive movement nor observe the working state of engineers. In addition, the number of engineers becomes only one from pair for one locomotive, the demand of the competence of engineers becomes higher. When the engineer drives the locomotive, he must observe the status of important equipments.For improving the level for administrative departments of railway, and helping engineers to drive locomotives safely, avoidance of serious accident,we research and design the locomotive video monitoring system based on wireless transmission technology. This system takes high performance DSP chip TMS320DM642 as its core,it's main module consists of video capture module, RS485 module and video transmission module. It can capture three channels of video signals simultaneously, and also collect the working states of field devices through RS485, then the data collected can be transmitted to the remote computer through the CDMA wireless network, to implement real-time monitor. Firstly, for the demand of engineers and administrative departments, the needed functionof the system is analyzed, The whole scheme of the system is designed, And the wireless network are chosen. Then emphatically introduces its two main contents: one is the design of monitor for the terminal in locomotive, including its software and hardware design in detail; The other is the research of data-transmission based on CDMA wireless network, and specified it mainly from its communication process, the detailed explanation to CDMA wireless module and the software and hardware design of communication between DM642 and DTU-800X. After that, introduces the design of data center and also tests the system function. Finally, the defect and the localization of the system are analyzed, and the future of the system based on GSM-R is discusses.
