Along with the development of the optical and electrol information, the microelectronics, the network communication, the digital video, the multimedia technology and the sensing technology, the video monitoring technology has developed from the traditional technique of simulation to the highly integrated digitization, network and intellectualization. With the advantages of the strong anti-jamming ability, small distortion, transmitting over any distance and convenient store query, various kinds of digital video processing technology obtained the rapid development. Therefore, digital video signal's gathering and processing are now applied to many fields and all kinds of video processing system arises. Aimed at the high speed of video signals processing on TMS320DM642, the following three aspects were mainly studied in this article.Firstly, through to the video image knowledge and the learning of special digital signal processing chip TMS320DM642, a scheme of video collection driver and video storage was proposed based on the TMS320DM642. At the same time, the video data A/D conversion chip TVP5150A and the design of various interfaces involved in systems were researched, including the I2C interface, the EDMA transmission control mechanism, the EMIF interface and the read-write timings of SDRAM. The related design of hardware systems was completed.Secondly, through to the system development environment CCS, according to the double driven model that TI Company provided, the video collection driver development of TVP5150A was analyzed in DSP/BIOS operating system. The video collection driver design mainly includes three aspects--the hardware irrelevant layer (class driver), the hardware related layer (mini driver) and the middle interface layer. Finally, the various software module procedures of the system were written, including the video input module, the video transmission module, the video control module, the video output module and the network transmission module. At the same time, the video data was stored. The program has been tested through the DM642 development board, and the test result has indicated this kind of plan feasibility, and has achieved the initial design requirements.
