Microwave radiometer is a very important remote sensing detector, and the data acquisition and system control unit is a very important composition of the microwave radiometer system. Multi-channel data acquisition and system control unit has completed the acquisition and digitized processing of the signal and controlled the system active status of the system according to the data, and been able to communicate with upper computer by asynchronous serial communication. In this paper shows a multi-channel data acquisition and system control unit for microwave radiometer, which is designed by FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array). FPGA has multitudinous merits, such as high integration, logic capability, high speed, flexibility and so on, especially in parallel signal processing, therefore each function of the multi-channel data acquisition and system control unit can be realized by FPGA.The paper primary coverage includes:(1) Introduced briefly the composition and the operational principle of the noise injection and real-time calibration microwave radiometer system, and analyzed its work sequential control;(2) Discussed the asynchronous serial communication agreement and the RS232 interface standard and the technology of FPGA in detail, and proposed a design proposal of the multi-channel data acquisition and system control unit based on the FPGA technology, which aims at the characteristic of the noise injection and real-time calibration microwave radiometer system.(3) Completed the technical realization of the hardware circuit of the data acquisition and system control unit for the noise injection and real-time calibration microwave radiometer, and the FPGA logical program design;(4) Carried on the simulation and debugging for the data acquisition and system control unit. The result satisfies the design request, and confirms the feasibility of the design proposal;Comparing to traditional technical method, this design proposal, which use the FPGA technology, has greatly decreased the number of the device, which is more propitious to improve the integration level and the reliability of the system, and the system is easy to realize and modify. Through the control from upper computer, it can be used as a general multi-channel data acquisition system, and has strong usability and the extendibility.
