With the accelerative deepen of digitization and network in broadcast stations, the central audio matrix system, which is the most important data transmitting and exchange system, has been applied widely in broadcast stations and played a key role. As the most important part of the system, matrix control system has been impacted on the normal works of the audio matrix directly; its reliability is also a crucial factor of the system.The design process of audio matrix master control system is discussed in this paper. With C, C++ language, we realized a high stability, high reliability and high extension control system which is based on PC. Firstly, the related knowledge of digital audio technology and the related devices of audio matrix master control system are introduced in the paper. Then we discussed the practical application environment of the industry of broadcast station, the requirement proposed by this environment to the control system and the characteristic of the control system which is base on this environment. Then we analyzed the structural design of the control system explicitly and divided the system into three modules which are independent of each other, but also coordinated the work. This modular design achieves that the different equipment of matrix are managed by the same set of control system and different equipment of matrix switched at the same time by the same system, as well as it makes the master control system has a high expansion abilities in all aspect of the system itself. The design and implementation process of the master control system's structure is detailed in the paper, including function requirement analysis, module division, module structure, implementation flow and so on. Finally, it briefly introduced the flexible routing switch features and the powerful system monitoring functions of the master control system.The new generation of the audio matrix control system researched in this paper has high reliability, high availability and high expansion ability. The device layer can mount new matrix equipment infinitely; the application layer provides more comprehensive functionality; and the entire system used two levels of backup.In addition, this master control system is totally computer networked, using the appropriate equipment as the center of the distributed architecture, the transmission, controlling and monitoring of the entire audio signal is achieved through the network. It realized the true meaning of the master control system of network.
