With the development of industrialization, population growth and urbanization have been accelerated. Urban water demand has been increased and water shortages are becoming increasingly serious.Xi'an is one of the serious water shortage cities. The problem of water shortage has become the city's social and economic development bottleneck. The use of the reservoir as the main sources of urban water supply has become an integral part of the main urban water supply in Xi'an city. How to implement the joint reservoir scheduling, the optimization of water supplying and to meet water demand for multi-user has become a research hotspot. In this paper, on the basis of studying relevant research results at home and abroad and through the combination of " Water Supply Planning of Number Four Reservoir of Eastern Suburbs of Xi'an " project, a research on cascade reservior group stream dispatch has been made and also the information system development has been done. The main research papers contents and research results are as follows:(1) Based on detailed description of current research trend and development in this field and analysis of the basic data of the reservoir and the watershed, the aims, contents and methods of this study have been put forward.(2)As to Jingyu River Basin, due to the inflow of groundwater runoff mainly supply side and with little seasonal variation, three methods of calculation for runoff storage reservoir were used; For the measure of runoff of the Daiyu reservoir, because there is no staff gauge station in valley, the result was based on the 50 years' records from staff gauge station and calculated by area mining dodulus analogy.(3)Based on the analysis of the runoff of the reservior, the dispatching of the stream was made. Based on the runoff of the reservior in Jingyu River Basin and the runoff of the reservior in Daiyu reservoir, the zero dispatching proposal was made. The proposal is regular dispatching, considering the reservior adjustment, evaporation and leakage , agriculture irrigation and the reservior' situation, the dispatch was made manually. During the dispatching, based on the runoff of the reservior in Jingyu River Basin the runoff of the reservior in Daiyu reservoir was dispatched.(4)To use the interrelated data, with the help of MapGIS, ArcView3.2 and VB, such softwares, a practical, reliable, advanced, open, scalable, feature-rich and easy to operate and maintain sofeware about Cascade Reservoir Group Stream Dispatching Information System of Estern Suburbs of Xi'an City was developped. The informationize and visualization of the dispatching management of the water resources was realized.(5)Based on proposal one, through the mathematic model of reservior group dispatching optimization, and adopt the dynamic planning method to work out the model and use the MatLab software to calculate in order to get the best solution for dispatching and make the diagram of diapatching.
