Virtual simulation technique has been widely used in the investigation, planning, design, construction and many other fields of Hydraulic Engineering. The traditional three-dimensional simulation of the reservoir area only demands for giving a three-dimensional appearance, using an intuitive way and making us immersed to view the local area, remaining in the browser level. It can be seen that the digitalization and intellectualization of the reservoir area has very profound practical significance.In this paper, combined with dynamic optimization theory and applying the real environment model, three-dimensional reservoir simulation brings forwards the design ideas and the overall design framework of the simulation system. In order to provide decision-makers with intuitive dispatching information, reservoir dynamic optimization virtual simulation system not only shows the cascade reservoir's topography and the socio-economic information related to water conservancy projects, but also integrates water-rising and water-receding model. Users can enjoy the reservoir from different visual angles and in the music background. At the same time, users can also set the water level in different reservoir models, and then observe the water level changes. As a result, the powerful data-processing capacity and three-dimensional analysis capabilities of the three-dimensional simulation system can be applied to navigation management and flood prevention decision-making.
