GPRS is a new communication network developed based on GSM. GPRS has many good merits such as fast transmission velocity, short connection time and realtime online ability. In recent years, more and more applications of GPRS appeared in the area of industrial control.This dissertation designed an industrial remote intelligent control system which is composed of objects, intelligent measure&control terminal and remote host computer. The terminals and host computer can correspond with each other in dual direction. This system has functions of real-time measurement, exception alarm, history data query, tuning of operate status and control parameters. The system this dissertation designed provides a feasible way to solve the dispersedly-located devices'supervison and control.PID control is a method used most frequently in the area of industrial control. The parameters of PID influence the performance of controller directly. PSO (Particle swarm optimization) is one of intelligent algorithms developed most quickly which have attracted more and more researchers'attention. This dissertation implemented the optimization of PID parameters by using PSO and applied the result to control terminals of the industrial remote intelligent control system. The remote host computer realized the tuning of PID parameters by updating the parameters of control terminals after sending commands. The result of experiment showed that the PID parameter tuned by PSO achieved good performance in real control system.
