Virtual Reality (VR), which first appeared in the end of 1980s, is the latest technology in the field of computer. It provides the users with a three-dimensional space which will reflect the changes of the substances and interact with the users by means of imitation. While the users are experiencing the real senses such as vision, hearing, touching and feeling, they can acquire the direct feeling and the kind of feeling when they explore the function and change of the virtual reality object in its own surroundings. VR has found application for entertainment, medicine, engineering and architecture, education and training, military analogue, science and finance. It is a technology which is widely applied in 21st century.In the field of education, VR has widespread function and influence. It can provide the students with vivid and lively study environment, and make the students participate in the virtual environment, which will play an active role in stimulating their interest in studying, in overcoming the focus and knotty problem of teaching and in training the students' skills. With the reform of teaching system, practice becomes a very important aspect for students, especially those who major in science and engineering, to understand the theory profoundly, so experiment becomes the indispensable part of teaching. Nowadays, there are a lot of problems such as outdated teaching facilities, insufficient education fund, failing to meet the increasing demands of the students and failing to catch up with the steps of the development of science and technology. Recently as the microcomputers have increased their functions rapidly and VR has developed swiftly, it is possible for the virtual laboratories to be used in teaching, popular science education and technology research. It has become an important research topic for us to establish a virtual lab in network and to let the students operate the experiment on network.Virtual lab is a system of experiment which is suited to virtual experiment by means of virtual reality.
