Research On Embedded Digital Video Recorder Technology

In recent years, digital video recorder has been applied widely in the professional storage realms, such as video surveillance and network storage.However, the traditional PC-base equipments fail to meet the gradually increased demands because of its inherent drawbacks.So the embedded systems have become a new reaearch focus which can provide notable advantage over its traditional counterparts.This paper propose and design a scheme about embedded digital video recorder system.The main task of this system is a system which is base on DSP processor and IDE hard disk to become the digital image record system.This system is mainly composed by image taking, image data storing and image abtraction. Using CMOS image-sensor OV7620 as the core device to achieve the image intake, further using CPLD chip EPM7128S, which generates the address singal and realize to control the whole system timing, by means of ping-pang operation, the digitized video data may write into two high speed RAMs and then put the image into IDE hard disk by DSP chip TMS320VC5502 of TI corportation.
