With the technology improved, laser technology has entered our every day life. But the quality of laser beam is uneasy to measure. To solve this problem, a practical Laser Beam Quality Analysis and Evaluation System is proposed.The paper details the moment analysis theory, discuss and design a system of measuring the quality of laser beam using the theory. The paper begins from the mechanical framework, illuminates the way of its hardware design, including the drive of stepper motor and the design of unit of the image data acquisition and transmission. Data acquisition and transmission is emphasized. Image buffer is made by FPGA, data is transmitted to a embedded system from the buffer using DMA ,and finally is transmitted to PC using Ethernet interface. The value of M~2 is given by PC. The wavelength range of 600—1100nm can be evaluated by this system.
