A Study On The Homosexual Subculture In The Homosexual Blog

As a way of communication with highly export-oriented character, blog has represented a novel technology of internet, which is different from both the non-public personal diary and the information serviced directly to readers. In the virtual world, blog is a linkage which units the scattered homosexual groups. Considering the concept of social constraints, these homosexual groups in the real environment usually choose to hide their real sexual orientation to reduce the tentative pressure that may be encountered in their lives. The process of homosexual blog to self-build is same as that of building a subculture. The blog about homosexual is not only a social communication network, but also a platform spreading the homosexual subculture.This study based on the text analysis of typical homosexual blogs, supplemented by observation and interview to describe and discuss the homosexual subculture phenomenon showed in the blogs in 4 aspects- the identity, open status, married life, and social communication, under the perspective of subculture theory.Through the research, the author finds that the formation of subculture is not a static but a dynamic development process. "Internet has created a wonderful era of homosexual" . As a result of the intervention of internet, the identity and social communication of homosexual groups have been profoundly changed. Through the platform of blog, every homosexual establishes the subculture different from the dominant culture, with their own actions and ideologies. On the other hand, the homosexual subculture influence homosexuals, to give them sense of belonging , to help with self-identifying and to establish a set of behavior well recognized by themselves.
