Research On The Status And Academic Influence Evaluation Of Open Access Journals

Since the 20th century 90's,Open Access Movement develops rapidly and has been accredited by the majority of scientists with the driven of the Academic institutions and scientists in the world.Along with the rapid development of the open access movement, there is large quantities of open access resource.Open Access is international trends,is the strategic choices of developed countries,China began to actively promote Open Access.But,the scientists in our cournty have paid little attention of open access and Open Access Resourse and doubted the academic influence of the open access resource.There are two mainly forms of Open Access Resource,Open Access Journals and Open Access Repository,and Open Access Repository includes Institutional Repository and Disciplines Repository.Open Access Journals use peer-reviewed as the system of quality control,so there is no difference on quality between the Open Access Journals and the print journals.Open Access Journals have good academic and use a good information organization mode to organize the information in journals,so Open Access Journals can be browsed conveniently and searched efficiency.Based on the Open Access Journals,this paper analyzes the status quo of the development of open access, discusses the evaluating indicators and evaluating methods to evaluate the academic influence of Open Access Journals.This paper discusses the following contents:Chapter 1 discusses the research background,research status,research content and research methods.Chapter 2 is the overview of Open Access,introduces the concept of open access, the definition of Open Access Journals and classification,and the reason of choosing Open Access Journals as the research object.Chapter 2 is the analysis of the status quo of Open Access Journals.Choose DOAJ, HighWire,J-STAGE,SciELO,African Journals Online,BMC,PubMed Central,Bioline Internationa,SFX knowledge base of Ex Libris as the statistical sources.Statistics the journal name,ISSN,Press,country and the disciplines of Open Access Journals, analysis the status quo of Open Access Journals about the regional and disciplines distribution and the collected of traditional indexing tool and the reason why there is difference between different regional and disciplines.Chapter 4 determines the evaluating indicators and evaluating methods.Choose ImpactFactor,Immediacylndex,Average citation rate),Total Cites,SJR,h index,Total Docs,Citable Docs.,Cites/Doc.as the evaluating indicators,Select the principal component analysis method as the evaluating method,using the principal component analysis of reduced-order to transform 9 indicators and into several composite indicators to evaluate the academic influence of Open Access Journals.Evaluate the academic influence of Open Access Journals in Clinical Medicine and Environmental Science etc. as an example.
