CMMB-based Mobile TV Systems Technology Development And Implementation

With the evolution of society and the advancement of technology, mobile phones'multi-function and multi-media are more and more popular besides their basic communication function. The advent of 3G is also the time for us to take a TV in "hand". As the mobile data communication is becoming a high-speed network, and mobile television technology is gradually mature, mobile TV has become an important field of mobile business. The traditional analog signal television or broadcast can not meet the demand of us. As the complement and expansion of radio and television, China Mobile Multimedia Broadcasting (CMMB), which provides digital audio and video information services to all kinds of portable terminal equipments through radio and television coverage of the wireless network, draw more and more attention.In this paper, we study how to apply CMMB to the development of mobile TV to build profitable and powerful mobile TV. Based on the project of our company, we investigate the related theories and key technologies of CMMB technology. We also analyze need of the mobile TV users, and we also discuss the background of the applications in the mobile TV. This paper discusses the implementation of specific programs based on the actual application. The innovation is the application of M-CAM chips to dual-mode chip Spreadtrum platform SC8800D, and the realization of mobile phones receiving CMMB digital TV signals.Finally, two-year applications have shown that the technology of CMMB has significant advantages in network construction, signal acceptance, streaming and displaying media data, resources scheduling, and so on. Practice has shown that CMMB is the most important way in which the current mobile TV operators take full advantage of existing network resources to receive mobile streaming media.
