Automatic weather station is a meteorological department automatically applies the collection, processing, storage and transmission of meteorological information of the device. Data transmission, including both wired and wireless, but cable can not meet the cost of automatic weather stations, maintenance, and efficiency requirements, as the General Packet Radio Service GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) developed because of low cost, fast, permanent online, such as characteristics of the automatic weather station was selected as part of the data transmission.In this paper, based on ARM, Linux and GPRS system design of the automatic weather station for research and development to operating systems, computer architecture,compiler theory, data structures, software engineering theory, to build the ARM processor, embedded Linux operating system, GPRS communication module of the automatic weather station system. The realization of a controller-based ARM processor, Linux operating system, applications, data collection, analysis, processing, storing, and transmitted through the GPRS and other functions, and verify that the application of its feasibility in the field of meteorology. Systems to high-performance 32-bit microprocessor core ARM ATMEL9263 hardware to BENQ M23 modules for GPRS, GPRS network in the analysis based on the program chosen according to the actual situation for the subject the way the public network IP fixed network program, the realization of micro-wireless controller to connect to the Internet for weather data transmission.
