At present the domestic Automatic Weather Station for VOS (Volunteer Observing Ships) generally has the oversized system power loss, the poor performance, the not well stability and so on in the actual movement process. The domestic product compares with the international similar product has a large gap. How to solve these problems and narrow the gap is the research and development direction of our Automatic Weather Station for VOS.This dissertation is based on Chinese "Automatic Weather Station for VOS of government procurement plan", focus on the design of low-cost, low-power, high-performance, high- reliability of the new Automatic Weather Station for VOS for its system builders, operating system migration , graphical user interface design for the in-depth study. This paper's main contributions are as follows:1. Low-power, high-performance systems hardware circuit design On the basis of careful analysis the structure and function of the original equipment, uniting now more popular embedded technology, using low power and powerful ARM9EJ-S core processor, the system hardware circuit has been redesigned. After the redesigned the circuit retains the original features of the system. The system reduces power consumption has high integration, and small size.2. Embedded Linux operating system is applied to the instruments The introduction of the operating system has increased the stability of the system. There are many kinds of embedded operating systems, the dissertation chooses the open source embedded Linux, in view of the hardware design of the circuit transplants the operating system on the board-level. It gives a detailed exposition of the transplant process and the development of device drivers under Linux.3. Designing of a good graphical user interface, allowing the system to become operational intuitionistic and simpleAfter deep research of the embedded Linux graphical interface, transplanting a graphical interface system MiniGUI to the Linux system. This dissertation deeply analysis the structure and principle of the MiniGUI, elaborates in detail of the MiniGUI transplant process, designs a more perfect and friendly graphical user interface, and based on this designs a based on graphical interface applications, greatly facilitate the user's operation.4. Improving the data transfer protocol to improve the data protection measuresBy the way of checking missing and mending leakage to revision the original system communication protocol, and seriously consider a variety of circumstances system of data protection issues, and put forth measures.Finally, under the actual research and development results of the system, summarizes and analysis the characteristics of the system, and the future designing work is also prospected.
