In recent years,mobile communication technology has made remarkable development.GPRS(General Packet Radio Service) mobile communication technology has many advantages such as real-time online,according to the flow of billing, communication speed and a wide range of network coverage and so on.This paper brought popular mobile communication technology into the research of artificial rainfall simulator remote monitoring system and developed a remote monitoring system based on GPRS communication platform by combining VC++, MATLAB,PCAuto software and DCT(Discrete Cosine Transform) image compression algorithm.This system solved the problems produced by traditional monitoring system's disadvantage in the field of economic costs and technique under the condition of outback,scattered control points,a wide range of distribution etc.,finally achieved the low-cost and automation of remote monitoring system.In this paper,the main work can be summarized as follows:1.Discussed the development and comparison of remote monitoring system at home and abroad,introduced the purpose and significance of research;2.Proposed a whole program of artificial rainfall simulator remote monitoring system based on GPRS,designed the hardware and software systems;3.EZW(Embedded Zero-treeWavelet),SPIHT(Set Partitioning in Hierarchical Tree),EBCOT(Embedded Block Coding with Optimized Truncation),DCT image compression algorithm were analyzed and compared,the DCT algorithm was chosen in the end,which got a large reduction of network transfer data,saved network resources and improved the transmission speed;4.Established neural network model of soil erosion,and model simulation results were analyzed.The results showed that the model forecast better and provided a new method for the soil erosion prediction;5.Summarized the main work and contribution of this paper,put forward the prospect of the further study.
