It has undergone essential changes with the application of information technology in the work of the library. Facing massive data generated from the daily management, library managers are eager to get useful information to guide managers making decisions. Traditional library decision-making relies mostly on experience, which will inevitably lead to many problems which are subjective unilateralism, and blind. It can not meet the requirements of the development of the ages. Therefore, it is an important issue for libraries about how to use advanced data mining technology to provide technical support and decision support.Library decision support system is designed on the basis of looking up a large number of excellent papers and books, at home and abroad, with the actual needs of the library, based on data warehouse technology. This paper describes the decision support system development status of the data warehouse, decision support, data extraction, and other related theories, makes the study of data warehouse model and library decision analysis model, achieves a data extraction tool Lib-ETL design, and makes data mining about the collection structure, the reader needs, funding allocation for the purchase book modeling. Experimental analysis shows that, decision analysis management system can provide effective decision support information for the library. Books purchased with funds allocated multivariate analysis model have a strong guiding role in optimizing the collection structure to meet the needs of readers, a reasonable allocation of funds, etc.In the summary and forecast parts, it discusses the issues which to be further perfected in the present research work, and points out the direction of future research.
