With the rapid development of the technology communicating and computer, software and hardware development of embedded computer system based high-speed PowerPC have been fully developed. In embedded computers, high-speed,real-time performance, reliability, short development cycle and other advantages have been fully manifested. Nowadays, it has been widely used in industrial, defense, aerospace, medical, household and consumer electronics industries. However, with the application of the complexity and quality requirements of increasing the traditional development of embedded computer can not satisfy with the increasing demand. The miniaturization, the low power, simple and flexible, as well as general design is becoming the important factor of concern in embedded systems.This topic will aim at these to pay attention to the factor importantly, the research design based on a common PowerPC7410 embedded computer. First we embark from the system construction of an embedded system, narrated that an embedded system's characteristic, the structure, the application domain as well as the commonly used embedded processors. Then with emphasis elaborated the general high performance embedded computer's design technique, including open style design, low power loss design, high speed system design, BSP software design and so on. The author acts according to these rationale and unifies the military field the application demand, proposed based on the PowerPC7410 general embedded computer module's implementation plan, and participated in the module development developing and testing the work. At present this module has succeeded uses in many military projects.
