Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) is one of the most important key technologies in automation. It has been regarded as the most potential technology in the field of high technology. It widely used in the field, such as automation, warehousing management, retail and supply chain management, air baggage management, tracking of product quality and security etc. As RFID's technique research deepens and its application gets more developed, design of essential part of RFID application - RFID Middleware is becoming the hotspot in researching area.RFID Middleware can provide real-time and reliable tag information for applications, reducing data flooding. Although many manufactory and research institution all over the world devote to study on RFID middleware, given a lot of solution, the development of a number of middleware products, existing issues cannot be ignored. On the one hand, RFID middleware only works for certain areas of applications, the products are single comparison, lack of hierarchical processing mechanism, scalability and compatibility; on the other hand, with the development of technology, the structure and functions of RFID middleware are becoming increasingly complex, and even have tendency to overly complex. Consequently, some users, especially small and medium enterprises, are encountered cost pressures and efficiency problem in selection, which is not conducive to the spread of RFID technology and applications. This article developed a RFID middleware independent on certain application. This kind of middleware has simple structure, application of low-cost, flexible, scalable and user-friendly, which can be widely used in small and medium enterprises.The paper raise the RFID middleware model that independent on certain area, and develop a RFID middleware base on DLL. Moreover, the following report is carefully study on communication protocol and command format of a variety of radio frequency equipment. The middleware connect with reader through serial port, network and USB, and control the reader in accordance with development kit provided by RFID manufacturers. The system filters the tag date by time-windows in order to elimination time redundancy and glitch. In the end, transfer the label data to business event. The design of interface in system base on DLL and modularity allows the system to have a high flexibility and scalability.At the last part, designed RFID middleware has been tested. The test result shows that functionality and performance of various parts of the RFID middleware are in line with the design requirements. With the use of RFID middleware, the change of readers in number and types do not have any impact on system. Filter the label also sharply reduce the burden on the upper application. As a result, the system can transfer the original label data to a meaningful event ultimately. The whole system has simple structure and character of stability and scalability...
