For a long time, the maintenance management of petrochemical equipment remains to be manual, which leads to low efficiency and high cost. Large amounts of the records, such as the equipment technical records, failure records are in paper form. The paper records can't be easily located and consulted in a timely manor when needed, resulting in inefficient management of equipment maintenance. It is far from being meeting the needs of modern enterprises. The Information Technology including database technology offers a better solution to collect, process, collation and analyze these data, which will not only greatly improve the efficiency of equipment management, but also help to discover patterns in equipment failure, thus to ensure that the maintenance management tasks are carried out smoothly.This article starts with the specific situation of a Hubei Petrochemical Corporation's day-to-day equipment maintenance, analyzed their workflow and specific needs. Based on a multi-perspective technique, the author designed a three-tier client/server architecture for a petrochemical equipment maintenance data management system using object-oriented methodology, the research work mainly include the following several aspect:(1) Investigate the management of a Hubei Petrochemical Corporation's day-to-day equipment maintenance, aim at the specific situation of this Petrochemical Corporation,establish the demand model,carry out needing analysis.(2) Based on the Petrochemical equipment maintenance process analysis and research,use object-oriented technology,UML unified modeling language and other advanced technology,establish the system model to maintenance processing management,carry on system designing.(3) According to "Workshop - Specifications Model - Equipment" relevant relations, assigning specialized subject( moving equipment, static equipment) executing equipment into the file and Classification of maintenance management,recording equipment, accounting, maintenance records, fault records, maintenance records and other information about equipment.(4) Establish data model and information platform for petrochemical equipment Maintenance Information System,implement Petrochemical equipment Maintenance Information System from the perspective of multi-angle.Visual C++ 6.0 and SQL Sever 2000 have been used during system development.
