Research Of Web GIS Technology Based On SOA

GIS(Geographical Information System) is a computer system used to input, store,query,analysis and display of geographic data.As a comprehensive discipline, GIS has been widely used in different areas.Web GIS is the combine product of GIS technology and Web technology,with Internet as the basic information platform and GIS as the theoretical application model.It is a network-based system used to processing and sharing geographical information.SOA(Service Oriented Architecture) with services serving as the core,to achieve the application of coarse-grained network deployment,integration and use. SOA and Web GIS can solve the problems encountered in the development of Web GIS applications,such as can not be crossing platforms and it is difficult to achieve interoperability of heterogeneous data and so on.In this paper,the results of research and innovation,mainly in the following areas:1.A in depth study on the development of GIS,Web GIS,as well as the problems faced by them.2.An analysis on reference architecture model,the core characteristics and advantages of SOA,pointing out that SOA is expected to solve the problems faced by Web GIS.3.Proposed the SOA based Web GIS implementation and a study on its structure and technical model.Introduced the key technologies needed in the SOA based Web GIS implementation,including the OGC specifications,client-side and server-side technology.4.With reference to actual implementation—Epoch IMS,present the specification of the SOA based Web GIS system,including Web GIS services,client API,as well as basic functions such as map roaming,Eagle-Eye,map layers control and tagging.5.Present the supporting systems,including service management and external tools.
