At present, there are a large number of transportation equipment do not support the NTCIP protocol for example VMS, CCTV and other equipment, open communication protocol standard has been applied in urban traffic signal control system in China, and becalmed the development trend of ITS . NTCIP (National Transportation Communications for ITS Protocol) is the standard communication protocol stetted by United States for the Intelligent Transport System (ITS) of the data transmission between electronic devices. It's main objective is to ensure the interoperability and interchangeability that between the traffic control unit and the ITS system. As the future Internet of Transport industry, NTCIP agreement on the realization of heterogeneous systems integration and integration is an inevitable trend use of common NTCIP gateway, Joint the equipment which not supports NTCIP into NTCIP system, and provides more flexibility and choice for the transport agencies or departments. By a uniform standard, NTCIP eliminated the co-ordination among different departments of the obstacles and allow different types of equipment and manufacturers of products flow in the same lines of communication, and lower system maintenance costs, as well as the operating system expansion cost.In this paper, by studying the NTCIP, SNMP, STMP, as well as the composition of MIB table and optimization theory, as well as equipment configuration MIB with the traditional relationship between the parameters to achieve the purpose of communications between different equipment. On the device is designed to support multiple devices (MCU6, ST-800, etc.), multi-interface including serial interface (RS232, RS485), SOCKET, network port (top / ip).In this paper, by studying the fast protocol conversion mechanisms and database developed a means of communication on the NTCIP protocol converter to achieve communications between a large number of NTCIP and the equipment does not support the NTCIP. Introduced the concept of high-level protocol conversion, made a general agreement NTCIP Gateway concept, has a strong practical significance for the transportation and communication among the platforms.
