Overfreight is byproduct of transportation industry. In order to pursue the maximum profits, more and more practitioner of transportation not spare to transported overfreight and transfinite, not only destroy the freeway and injury safe capability of motor vehicle itself, but easily triggered traffic accident toll of living and property also. So as to control the phenomena effectively, it must to carry out the weigh of the vehicle by virtue of detection apparatus, Detection apparatus including Static and dynamic had used currently all stationarytype.This paper put forward a Weighting On-board System, Which can be display real-time and record the weight information of vehicle, also can give an alarm when overfreight. To get through the statistical analysis of recorded data in the Weighting On-board System, it contributes to obtain the related information about the dead weight capacity of vehicle, which is very important to overload control, cost accounting and business management.This article introducing CAN Bus into the Weighting On-board System. To take advantage of its features, such as high communication speed and fault-tolerant, the realtime data communication and reliability in field engineering of whole system have enhanced. This new model delivers wire economy and simplifies the trunk of Weighting On-board System.In the respect of chosen general planning, the author brought forth several plans in data collection, transmission and manipulation respectly. By comparing the advantages and disadvantages of the plans, determined the plan finally. Which to design a major controller node and ten smart sensor nodes, this 11 nodes directly connected to the CAN bus network. Then the Weighting On-board System based on CAN Bus is realized.As for hardware design, this paper made an exposition of the main controller and each functional module the hardware design and development process, design the hardware structure of the main controller and each functional module.In the field of software design, we focus on real-time and reliability. C51 adopted as a software design language, the program was studied out consistency and portability, in the nature of favorable consistency and portability. This is favorable for make an assay of storage data and management.To sum up, from the point of view of practical application, this article in the right perspective introduction the theory, principles and realization of Weighting On-board System, in term of automotive WIM is originality innovation. It have value for other Onboard System use as a source of reference. However, there are insufficiencies of the system, the author will further to research.
