As the basis of the information industry, telecommunication plays a leading role which advances the informationization of society. With the rapid development of telecommunication technology, constantly emerging new business communications, voice communication and data communication in modern society has become the most widely used ways of information exchange. It is an indispensable part of our daily life and work. As the Program-controlled digital exchange which is responsible for voice communications, its technology is sustaining developing. This thesis discusses a core technology of the program-controlled digital switching: NO.7 Signaling Technology. As a supporting network, NO.7 Signaling Network is the core of the national telecommunication network, all the telecommunications equipment must access to the NO.7 signaling network. This thesis makes a detailed analysis for No.7 signaling technology from the proposed technology No.7 signaling to its development, functional structure and the principles, as well as the discussion on the No.7 signaling network in our country. After the theoretical analysis and discussion of No.7 signaling technology, this thesis makes deeply research on how the Ericsson AXE10 switch achieves the function of No.7 signaling from the hardware of AXE10 switch to its network architecture and the software configuration. Also, this thesis discusses the process of signaling cutover. The process of implementing the No.7 signaling functions discussed in this thesis is a universal significantly process. In the current telecommunications market, the replacement of equipment is popular. The implementation of this technology has referential value for the other similar projects.
