As the development of the SOC (System-On-Chip) technology, new methods are applied to solve the problem in designs. Nowadays, the PBD (Platform Based Design) method is a popular SOC design technique, and the design of the platform is the base of implementing this method. The design showed in the thesis is based on the methodology of verify IP cores at a system-level, so as to verify IP cores in a quick and efficient way.IP-based methodology is used in constructing the Platform. The first step is find out the reusable modules, and then design the other modules, finally complete the design. As a result the design cycle is shortened. A processor and bus architecture is chosen in the design, the processor is one of the MIPS (Microprocessor without Interlocked Piped Stages) 4K families, and the bus is AHB (Advanced High performance Bus) which is based on the AMBA (Advanced Microcontroller Bus Architecture) specification 2.0. A method of dual-AHB architecture is put forward by the thesis, and the Master and Slave interface are designed using Verilog HDL. That is, connect the processor and RAM (Random Access Memory) model to the bus. A system-level functional simulation is done after the completion of the system. The method of dual-AHB architecture used in the design is a recommendable one. At present, the platform has been applied to verify IP cores.
