Research And Application Of Association Rules In The Educational Administration Of Vocational Colleges

The information on teaching management becomes the rich resource for many vocational colleges with the rapid rise of the number registered students as well as all kinds of vocational colleges. In fact, most of collages don't furtherly do any research and analysis on implied information contained the large quantity of datd. The data mining is a procedure to analyze plenty of data by artificial intelligence in the data warehouse and obtain the knowledge. Such implied information was detected in teaching managemental data by the technique of data mining. It help us promote the teaching and design the teaching management on basis of it.The thesis brings about some researches on data warehouse and the technique of data mining based on teaching managemental data of Lanzhou Institute of Education to apply it to teaching management. The main achievements are:1. The data warehouse, OLAP and the data mining were introduced and compared. Then how to build dimensional data model was explained.2. The data warehouse for teaching managemental information of Lanzhou Institute of Education was built with Microsoft SQL Server 2000 based on the collection of material of Lanzhou Institute of Education for about four years, which was reorganized, assembled, choosen, transformed; The valuable conclusion was drawn through analyzing the dimensional data which was created with Analysis Service by OLAP.3. The technique of association rules was introduced. Then the developed Apriori calculation, which was related with digital groups, was created on basis of the research on association rules. It is obvious that the new calculation was rapidly improved.4. The association rules were applied to the data warehouse. The interesting rules were found on the analysis of teaching managemental data and the cultivating model for college students were built. The model for manifesting the students'grades was built up with the analysis of courses. The evaluating model was built up with the teachers'performance. The validity is proved with large quantity of research. These model offered much scientific reference to the enrollment, evaluation to the students development, performance as well as the quanlity of teaching. It is furtherly applied to direct and enhance the teaching management and better tne quanlity of teaching. These achievements which makes some significance on teaching management so as to the similar work in higher vocational colleges has a high research value.
