RFID (radio frequency identification) technology has risen as a non-contact automatic identification technology at the beginning of 1990s. It enables the automatic identification of objects by use of radio frequency signals and the transmission characteristics of spatial coupling or radar reflection. Along with the recognizing of unified RFID standard widely in industry, RFID technology is increasingly used in so many fields, such as military, logistics, storage, biotechnology, medical etc.In this paper, we delve into the problem of the application with RFID technology in firearms management, by coalescing to the actual demand of information technology application of our army. The research of this dissertation mainly includes:1. How to prevent signal collision effectively becomes one of the main emphases and difficulties of the applications with RFID technology in the firearm management. We propose an improved algorithm by combining design requirement of the application with RFID technology in firearms management, based on analyzing classic RFID anti-collision algorithm detailedly. In this algorithm, Reader just returns collision points of the previous record and sends corresponding serial number for selecting tags. This method avoids the process that Reader resends the biggest serial number to filtrate all remainder tags repeatedly and ruduces large numbers of query for selecting tags, so it enhances transmission and identification efficiency. The simulation results have shown that the improved algorithm is correct and effective.2. Based on the first part, according to highly efficient, standardized and scientific aim and actual requirement of firearms management, we complete the firearms management system design and enablement. This system achieves capabilities of collecting information of firearms inflow and outflow, registing firearms dissemination information, tracking dynamic firearms maintenance information, quering firearms comprehensive information and statistical reports and sends these information to the central control room server through the internal LAN. It forms a digital information management platform for firearms management, which grasps the real-time dynamic information accurately and comprehensively, and achieves non-paper automation and intelligentialize on firearms management. At the same time, our research represents a useful effort for digital management not only on other military equipments but also on civilian equipments.
