PDM Application And Implementation Technology In Xi'an Huashan Mechanical Industry Company

With the rapid development of Information Technology and Computer Network, CAX has been widely used in manufacturing industry and enterprises' capability of product design and development has been enhanced. However, these application systems are self-contained and lack effective information-sharing and using with each other, so a so-called "isolated island of information" is formed. Meanwhile, the continuous improvement of enterprise informationization makes the quantity of production increase rapidly. The tool which can integrate various application systems macroscopically is urgently needed to manage or control all the data generated. PDM is such a tool. As a non-universal and non-PnP software, PDM is closely related to enterprise culture and background. The implementation of PDM is a complex project, and managers and IT staff are needed to cooperate with each other. For the reason, enterprises should use PDM according to their characteristics. Besides of doing lots of basic work, the pre-program design and the latter implementation are also very important.Based on reading and analyzing lots of references, this article takes a key project as research target, which is named "Application and Implementation of Product and Document Management" in Huashan Company. In the article, the basic concept, architecture and main function to PDM are explained comprehensively; requirement analysis is implemented; a project implementation scheme based on CAXA V5 PDM has also been designed; the training plan has been made in detail. Finally, a specific application and implementation have been given in this article. The main work are as follows:1. Based on the background of PDM, the positive effects to manufacturing industry of PDM and the importance and necessity of PDM have been elaborated.2. The basic principle and architecture of PDM have been introduced, additionally, many aspects to PDM have been discussed, such as the functions of document management, product structure, disposition management and system integration and the economic benefit. which brings to the enterprise. 3. After requirement analysis to the production characteristic, organizational structure, work flow and informationization present situation of Huashan Company, the necessity of implementing PDM has been provided, and the key requirement description has also been concluded.4. Based on requirement analysis, the selecting to PDM has been carried out; and an implementation scheme based on CAXA V5 PDM has been designed; the training plan has been made in detail; a specific implementation has been given .5. The application of CAXA V5 PDM in Huashan Company are presented in detail.At present, the application has been running successfully in Huashan Company, and obtained good effects. The research and application to this project could provide a good example and an important reference for other manufactures to implement PDM.
