With the extensive application and in-depth development of information technologies in manufacturing, the manufacturing data (e.g. bill of materials (BOM) and routings), as the basic data of enterprise information systems, are attracting more and more attention. The main research of this paper focuses on some questions related to the core data of manufacturing system—BOM and routings. On the basis of understanding the conception and essential characters of manufacturing data, a new BOM description model based on affine space, and one product multi-routings modeling method guided by Metagraph, are proposed respectively. Furthermore, an integration model for product structure data and production process data—generic bill of materials and processes (GBOMP) is constructed.In the precondition of analyzing the development tendency of technologies related to manufacturing data management, with the practical application of manufacturing data integrated management in Dalian Locomotive & Rolling Stock Works, and combining with several theoretical research projects supported by the National High-Technology Development Program (863), some scientific researches on manufacturing data integrated management are done from several aspects as following:1) Considering the limitation of traditional BOM models in enterprise applications, a novel BOM model based on n-dimensional affine space is proposed. All parts of a product could construct an affine space, and then each of them has a corresponding vector in the concomitant vector space of the affine space. So the assemblies from parts to products were represented by corresponding linear combination, and all operations on BOM can be done by calculating the inner product between corresponding vectors.2) To solve the problem of multiple routings selection in product manufacturing process, a multi-routings model based on Metagraph, a formalizational modeling tool, is created in the paper. Through the maximizing Metapath maximum, the whole schemes of routings can be acquired. With a weighted Metagraph, cost, time, machining capacity and other factors involved in routings, can be expressed accurately via the multi-routings model. Finally, cost, production period and other performances of every routing scheme can be computed, which lay a foundation for description and quantitative analysis of product multi-routings.3) A model of generic bill of materials and processes (GBOMP) oriented to high-variety production management is presented in this paper, which aims at solving the problem on the integration of product structure data and manufacturing process data. Static product structure data and dynamic manufacturing process data are unified in the model together, and the logic relationships of material between bill of material and bill of process are tracked through a separate kitting activity. So as to the model provides enterprises with an integrated manufacturing data support for production operational plan scheduling and production progress rate jointing among workshops.4) Based on the advanced information technology—XML and Web Service, a Serviced-Oriented Architecture (SOA) is constructed in the paper. The characteristics and implementation of every layer in the architecture, as well as design strategies of whole architecture are discussed in detail, which is aiming to pave the way for development of the succedent application system.5) All of the above research outcomes are applied in an enterprise project. An application case of DLOCO-PPS system that has been designed and developed by the author during the study in Ph.D program is introduced, which adopts the manufacturing data integrated management as the kernel. The requirement analysis, function design, development and implementation of the system are represented.
