When the global automobile market is declined affecting by financial crisis, Chinese automobile market is getting hot continually. It becomes to be the biggest market of the world between January and April, 2009. But most of the sales are contributed by a few famous carmakers, in which almost the joint ventures. Along with the abundance of automobile products, market competition must always be intense. Automobile manufacturers must increase in the level of production management continually and meet the diverse needs of customers in order to maintain a foothold in the market.Introducing RFID into the automobile manufacturing industry is consistent with this trend. Advanced features like automatic collection and good environmental adaptability of RFID help carmakers to achieve these objectives. As a means of information collection, RFID also have complex technical characteristics. Because of the complex vehicle production process and the difficulty of management, it's not easy to use RFID there properly. This paper is based on the research of a well-known manufacturer of micro-car, introduce RFID into vehicle production management, advance idea of RFID application, and design corresponding information collecting scheme.The paper mainly researches on:1. Analyze and summarize the information collecting needs of automobile produce workshops through plentiful research, in the basis of the automotive industry informationization status quo and RFID technology research and application status quo at home and abroad;2. Advance RFID application ideas of vehicle production, including RFID application functions and phases;3. Advance vehicle production information collecting scheme based on RFID technology, choose proper RFID information collecting points and offer system layouts, suggest system requirements to RFID developers and system integrators;4. Advance RFID system program briefly, based on the information system of S manufactory.
