| Multi-media terminal is the leisure equipment which supports many fuctions such as video playing, audio playing, picture browsing, network roaming and playing games. It's powerful and highly integrated functionality means that it must be the mainstream of the development of electronic products now and in the future. Multi-media entertainment devices for its adequate performance, more and more being loved by the public especially young people. The design of multi-media terminals has high research value and application prospects.Along with the popular of Linux operating systems, embedded systems has become the first choice in today's multi-media terminal in the hardware and software. At the same time, Linux operating system as an open-source system that can reduce lots of product development costs, ARM chip is used powerful and famous for its relatively inexpensive price. So this paper will use the ARM9 Samsung S3C2410 chips with the Linux operating system to develop a multi-media terminal supporting the following fuctions: video playing, audio playing, the network and so on.Nowadays, most of multi-media terminals does not support network, which is an obvious flaw in the case of increasing popularity of the Internet and 3G techology going to be used for business. In this paper, the research will focus on the terminal's network, including network design, network module, drive the preparation, debugging and installing application software. Finally, the realization of network functions will be used on multi-media terminals, and testing with the browser Konqueror.Graphical user interface (GUI) will be produced TrollTech company's QT / Embedded and Qtopia development. Both products are open source software, so we can not only save development costs, but also nice meet the design requirements. This paper will also be focused on the development of GUI.Finally, the design is dowloaded to the hardware platform. Then the paper will use the hardware to test the program and finish the whole project. |
