Economy and mini type is a very important development trend in the rapid prototyping technology. The data processing software is a very important part in the three-dimensional printing software system. It has the function of accepting STL data, accepting customer's parameters, system state's display, creating every entity image and support image. My main research content is entity image generation module and support image generation module in the three-dimensional printing software system.Firstly, active lines table filling algorithm is researched and improved. This new algorithm can translate scan filling into integer comparing in order to avoid filling error owing to repeating operation. At the same time, it can avoid accounting the number of intersection points in the traditional active lines table filling algorithm. The new algorithm realized entity images'exact filling.Secondly, the scan lines are translated into BMP image in order to accomplish entity lattice generation.Thirdly, five traditional support generation algorithms are researched so that they can be applied in the three-dimensional printing system. These five support generation algorithms are manual design in the CAD model; automatic support generation based on box type; automatic support generation based on projection area; lattice minus operation and scan lines minus operation. These algorithms are compared with each other in order to get their advantages and disadvantages.Fourthly, a mostly compatible automatic support generation algorithm of the three-dimensional printing system—image minus operation algorithm is researched and realized. By this algorithm, no redundant support configuration can be produced. Besides, this algorithm is more simple and exact than traditional support generation algorithms.The entity image generation module and support image generation module of the three-dimensional printing data processing software have passed system simulation and have got satisfactory test result. It has been validated on three-dimensional printing system already.
