It is the eternal goals of casting foundry factory to reduce casting defects and improve casting quality and production efficiency. Compared with other industrial production, foundry production process involves in complex, diverse types of materials, so it is difficult to control the production process parameters and the quality of materials. Practice shows that it possesses great significant to control the quality of the casting mould sand for reducing casting defects and improving casting quality.Through analyzing and researching on the clay mould sand quality data of several production lines of the Jiangling Casting Plant in recent years, the results show that the main problem existed in clay sand casting production line is actually the unscientific control and management to the clay mould sand quality. Thus, using the computer software systems for managing casting foundry to enhance the clay sand quality should be one of most effective ways to improve the casting production quality.Based on the software engineering design principles and the actual casting production, it established the framework of clay sand quality management system linking sand components, clay mould sand performances and casting defects. And through the regressive analysis to a large number of actual production data, it established the mathematical expression connecting the corresponding sand components, casting defects and clay mould sand performance, and it get the corresponding relation curve between the casting defects and the clay mould sand performance. Above works had also set theoretical foundations for developing the software system of clay sand performances and casting defects quality management.In accordance with the actual needs and future requirements of Jiangling Casting Plant for the software system, the system building is based on the internal LAN, and is mainly used for the various inter-departmental inquiries and communications. The system uses client / server (Client / Server, C/S) architecture, its application is divided into two parts, one is client part and the other is server part.In this article, the main research works including follows:Firstly, it described the actuality and development trend of the mould sand quality management system at home and abroad, and it proposed the quality management system solution based on the C/S structure.Secondly, it made the detailed analysis about the .NET technology, ADO.NET, Visual Basic.NET, SQL Server 2000, SPSS statistical analysis software.Thirdly, it established the software architecture of the clay sand quality management system that could meet the requirements.Finally, it presented the implementation of quality management system, which includes the analysis of sand performances and casting defects, the design and implementation of database, the design of system interface.The application of this research results not only has a positive practical significance to improve quality and management level for foundry enterprises, but also provides an effective method of constructing communications and information service between enterprises.
