The applications of wireless communication are restricted by the power consumption of wireless terminal. In order to reduce the redundant power and prolong the lifespan of wireless terminal, the wireless wake-up technology was proposed. Radio-triggered wake-up circuit could be used to realize wireless wake-up, which receives the wireless wake-up signal of controller and generates the reset or an external interrupt to wake-up the wireless terminal. The Cockcroft-Walton voltage multiplier is used to construct the radio-triggered wake-up circuit. An analytical model of the voltage multiplier under an ultra-high frequency and low input power voltage condition is derived in this paper. This model takes into account the input voltage, the number of stages of the multiplier, the diode parameters and the impedance of load, which is compliant with HSpice simulations, and it allows for short design time of an optimal voltage multiplier. With the antenna, the power matching network and the inverter, an integrated radio-triggered wake-up circuit based on this multiplier model is introduced. The design rules, performance analysis and optimizing methods for this circuit are also introduced. At last, the performance of a radio-triggered wake-up circuit with the parameters of existing parts is optimized and analyzed, the result shows that, under the electromagnetic radiation protection requirements and common environment, the output of inverter will invert, consequently the wireless terminal will be waken.
