The New Way Magazine, which was started in Shanghai in February 1928 , by Zhang Junmai and Li Huang-—a leader of Youth Party, was a secret publication. It had been periodically published for 10 times and was finally closed by Kuomintang's ban in April, 1929. This magazine was a political comment of which the theme was the criticism on Kuomintang's political domination. However, at present little attention was paid to it by the academia. People are much more willing to refer to another magazine called "Crescent" , which was regarded as a public opinion position on human rights where they can state clearly the attitudes of the middle parties and groups and the intellectuals towards Kuomintang's one-party dictatorship. Therefore, after making sense of the magazine clearly, and unscrambling the articles in it, the author intends to do things as follows: First, discuss the critique manner and thought condition of the middle parties and groups and the intellectuals to the temporal politics. Secondly, analyze the characteristics complex contrary attitudes of them by their both criticizing sharply and protecting occasionally. Finally, make a comparison between the two magazines, from the aspects of different educational backgrounds and interpersonal relations of the writers of the two magazines, and compare the contents and attitudes between them, thus to highlight the importance of the New Way Magazine as the first public opinion position on the criticism on Kuomintang's domination. According to the above discussion about the historical materials, the author holds that the New Way Magazine has started first shoot to fight against Kuomintang's one-party dictatorship, although it had some limitations due to the historical and hierarchic factors of the writers' thoughts. It has also encouraged the bourgeoisie and democratic intellectuals at that time and afterwards. Moreover, the writers' propaganda of democracy has made preparations for the Constitutional government movement both in thought and public opinions.
