As one of the countries with the highest rate for traffic accidents,China witnessed 265,204 traffic accidents in 2008 which caused the loss of one billion RMB and brought immeasurable indirect harm to the whole society.With the development of highway network and increase of automobiles in our country,experts estimate that the death rate of China's traffic accident will still high in the next ten years.Currently dealing with the traffic accident still mainly depends on human judgments and handmade drawing.Its inaccuracy,inefficiency and artificial factors cause the incompleteness of information at the scene of the accident,which further cause the lack of systemic,complete and visual basis when traffic accident is dealed with.Therefore,it is out of joint with current digital and information-based construction.This thesis is written against the present characteristics of the traffic accident scene precessing of China which takes long time and is hard to take evidence.Through social survey and document study,we explore to use the technology of Virtual Reality to assist traffic police to revert the accident scene with three dimensions,which brings great convenience for enforcement of traffic Law and justice definition.Combining computer software and hardware system,the technology of Virtual Reality makes it possible to produce real-time animation with sounds and images based on a large collection of data.This thesis studies to recur the accident scene with three dimensions by the data and information collected at scene and the combination of the collision detection technology,OpenGL and 3Dmax.By comparing and studying current collision detection technologies,the thesis comes up with a AABB bound volumec(BV) hierarchies collision detection method with storage optimization.The method has the characteristics of quick intersection test and deformation collision detection,so that it increases the speed of collision detection through the optimization of storage space.First,the thesis analyzes how to build up a BV,and especially explains the AABB bound volumec hierarchies which discomposes object into binary tree structure.By analyzing the collision detection between two object's AABB bound volumec hierarchies,it simplify storage structure description from bounding box structure and leaf node structure and save large storage space so that it makes simulation effect clear.Now professional 3D modeling softwares can not meet the requirement of interactivity of a VR system,meanwhile,in the graphic developing environment based on OpenGL,it is difficult to create complicate 3D models by encoding.Therefore,Based on the analysis of virtual environment modeling technology,a new method is put forward,that is,to create complicated models by using 3DSMax,the model files exported to 3DS-format and fetched in OpenGL in which real-time rendering effects is attainable.In Chapterâ…£the thesis expounds external 3DS-form 3D model data entering technology,realistic virtual environment forming technology (including material,illumination set and gain mapping) and the display technology of 3D object in OpenGL.Lastly,based on lots of social researches,the thesis designs and achieves a traffic accident scene recurrence system.According to the data collected at scene,the recurrence-needed basic data is input,and the 3D models is used,then the accident scene is recurred by using collision detection technology.
