The Research On The Application Of Data Warehouse System In Colleges Management And Decision-making

At present,the Management Information Systems of many colleges have been gradually maturing.The information of all aspects is more comprehensive recorded.Such as some students' achievement information,school information, teachers' teaching information,teaching plans and so on.But about 80 percents of the information is simply stored in the database.The potential information which is hidden in these data is idle and can not be fully utilized.Undoubtly,how to make full use of these data and excavat those useful,but often overlooked important information and try to find some rules about governing colleges which are affected by the dynamic changes must be great helpful for the management and decision-making of colleges.Therefore, we propose an idea that we could use the Data Warehouse technology in colleges'teaching management.From this point of view,this article is to establish the DW system in teaching management.And then use the corresponding Data Mining algorithms for the data analysis to find the laws hidden in these data,so as to achieve the purpose of being helpful for the teaching decision analysis.This thesis makes a detailed introduction about the theoretical knowledge of Data Warehouse and Data Mining at first,and proposes some design methods.Then it proposes the frame about Teaching Management Data Warehouse System with the base of the analysis about current situation of Teaching Information System,and implements the extraction,transformation and loading to the desired Data Warehouse(ETL) working module for the data of existing information systems.About the Data Access in the Data Warehouse,This thesis carries on a study and application with some typical data mining methods combining the needs and the problems of Colleges Management Decision-making.Analyze the preferences of classes which students chosen by the Apriori algorithm of Association rules,and makes an improved algorithm for this algorithm,also improves the efficiency of the algorithm;using Decision Tree Algorithm establishes corresponding Decision Tree model and predictive analyzes the employment situation of students.Use Cluster analysis method to analyze the situation of teaching evaluation and presents the specific implement.Finally,this thesis elaborates the prospect of future research about this subject.
