The design and implementation of electronic discharge subsystem for optical fiber fusion splicer is studied in this paper. In optical fiber fusion splicer, the splicing loss depends on the discharge current and discharge time. The strength of discharge current and discharge time can be controlled by software. The heat generated by electrode make two optical fibers fuse together, thus reducing the loss to the lowest.Heating furnace is to heat-shrink the fiber protection heat-shrinkable tube in order to achieve the purpose of reinforcement for optical fiber fusion point.MCU is applied to control the circuit so as to control the heating time and heating temperature precisely. The electronic discharge subsystem consists of discharge circuit and heating furnace. The discharge circuit adopts half-bridge power supply as core structure and PWM integrated block as central controller. The discharge current intensity is controlled by controlling the output pulse width of the chip,MCU blockades the output pulse of the chip,so as to control the discharge time.Heating furnace employs MCU to control turn-on and off time for heating and refrigeration equipment,so as to raise and lower temperature for temperature adjustment.
