The Design And Realization Of H.264 Decoder Based On ADSP-BF561

The latest video coding standard H.264/AVC is developed by JVT(Joint Video Team),which formed by the ITU-T Video Coding Experts Group(VCEG) and the ISO/IEC Moving Picture Experts Group(MPEG).Compared with prior video standards,H.264/AVC has better performances,can provid enhanced compression efficiency and a "network-friendly" interface.The development of video coding standard results in the development of industry area,video encoder and decoder will be developed.Currently there are two main solutions to develop H.264 CODEC:the first solution is to develop H.264 CODEC using hardware,it is a solution with outstanding performance but high costs and long developing cycle;the second solution is to develop H.264 CODEC based on DSP,it is a solution with adequate performance and good compatibility.This paper develop H.264 decoder based on ADI multimedia processor ADSP-BF561.This paper elaborates the new techniques of H.264/AVC,presents the features of ADSP-BF561 and the VisualDSP++ development environment,and designs the embeded video system based on ADSP-BF561.And this paper analyzes the decoder's source code of the reference model JM13.2,and optimizes the decoder based on PC, including optimizing the code structure of the decoder,optimizing the data structure of the decoder,optimizing the memory usage of the decoder,and optimizing the arithmetic of the key models.Finally,this paper ports the optimized decoder on ADSP-BF561,combining the features of ADSP-BF561 and optimizing technique of assembly language,finishs the H.264 decoder based on ADSP-BF561.The test results shows that the decondig speed of the H.264 decoder based on ADSP-BF561 will be above 30 frames per second if the test sequences are CIF format sequences.The H.264 decoder based on ADSP-BF561 has achieved the goal of real-time decoding the CIF format sequences.
