With the quick development and the interaction of Large Scale Integrated circuit, computer science and communication technology, wireless devices begin to entry every aspect of our daily life. As a new wireless data exchanging technology, ZigBee can make electronic devices and Household Appliances to work together and this can give people a new feeling of living and working. The keyboard is a people daily using computer peripheral. With the popularization of the wireless devices and the change of work place, the demand of wireless keyboard is rapidly increasing. The paper explores a method to design and implement of wireless keyboard based on the ZigBee technology.At first, the paper introduces the current research status of wireless keyboard and the solution of wireless keyboard which can brought from computer peripheral markets.Secondly, the paper detailed the design of hardware system and the design of software system. In the hardware system, the JN5121 is the core chip which controls the USB chip. The wireless keyboard which is based on ZigBee wireless technology consists of two sub-systems: one is the receiver which is connected to the computer system, the other is the sender which is connected to the keyboard. The core chip of the receiver is the JN5121. With the assistance of USB chip, the receiver sends the keyboard codes which got from the sender to the computer system via USB port. The receiver also accepts the commands from the computer system. The core chip of the send is also the JN5121. The PS/2 keyboard is connected to the I/O ports of JN5121 directly. With the PS/2 interface, the sender can get keyboard codes from the keyboard and send them to the receiver.Three receivers and three senders can make up a keyboard networks. This can implenment the functions: one peer to one peer keyboard network, one peer to multi-peer keyboard network, multi-peer to one peer keyboard network and multi-peer to multi-peer keyboard network.Finally, the paper decribed the debugging procedure and the test result. The feasibility and the correctness of the solution - building a wireless keyboard based on ZigBee technology are proved by the result.The paper used a lot of dailgrams to show the system design and this can make the system architecture and the software flow easy to be understood. Meanwhile, the ZigBee technology has good market prospects. By studying the ZigBee wireless keyboard, we can have a good basical knowedge to use the ZigBee technology in other fields.
