The directions of modern welding production are mechanization, automation and flexibility. This paper mainly discusses research of welding technology and design of the welding equipments used in the welding production line of the bridge telescopic devices of the Inter-city Railway Passenger Line. Arc welding robot system is built. On the base of much experiment, we get welding parameters which will meet requirements of production.Basic design principles of bridge telescopic devices and welding production process are discussed. The production flow and characteristics of the processing technology are determined.The usage of arc welding robot can increase productivity, also have the advantages of maintaining welding parameters consistent and improving the quality of welding. The structure of the robot workstation and control system are discussed. Also the positioning of special-shaped steel and mechanical arm are preliminary designed. The function of operation button on console is determined. After all, arc welding robot workstation system is controlled by the PLC.The workpiece will deform after welding, so it can not meets the requirements of application. Flame heating will be used to reshape the workpiece. In order to control the process, a shape-righting controller must be designed. MCU is the core of the Shape-righting controller. The connection DAC chip DAC0832 with the MCU is buffer-way. Current signal generated by DAC is transferred into a two-class amplification conversion circuit. After that, a triangle voltage controlling signal whose voltage amplitude and frequency can be adjusted will be got. The triangle voltage controlling signal can meet the requirements of operating device used for heating the distorted workpieces.
