College English Web-based Learning System is one of the most important projects of Chinese Ministry of Education, which facilitates the reform of College English Teaching.From the systematic design perspective, this dissertation is written to improve the functions of New Perspective College English Web-based Learning System.Firstly, this dissertation makes a developmental research on the theory and technology of Web-based Instructional System and describes the current functions of New Perspective College English Web-based Learning System.Furthermore, it makes a functional comparison between New Perspective and New Horizon Learning System to conclude the critical functions. Finally, based on user questionnaire and data collection, this paper attempts to improve the functions of New Perspective, and the whole designing process which includes the modules of learner platform, instructor platform, learner-instructor interaction platform and learning resource platform is in the spirit of supporting students'autonomous learning. The evaluative and feedback information from the system users and system engineers indicates that the designing plan is of great value to New Perspective. |
