Based on the analysis of vehicle navigation equipment, the research on the design and implementation of ADSP–BF533 processor and embedded Linux operating system based intelligent vehicle navigation terminal was made in the thesis.In the thesis, the design and implementation of vehicle navigation terminal have been analyzed in detail from both hardware and software. In hardware, the ADI's ADSP-BF533 DSP was used as the core processor. The hardware design is composed of several modules, such as, memory module, LCD, touch screen and GPS module. Also, the principle and implementation of these modules were discussed. In software, the embedded Linux operating system was used for the platform. A complete cross-development environment was established on the host personal computer. The u-boot and uClinux was ported to the intelligent navigation terminal hardware platform under that environment. The LCD device driver development was discussed after the analysis of frame buffer driver structure and the platform device registration process. The LCD device drive makes the equipment have a good output platform. The MiniGUI was introduced to the vehicle navigation terminal, also, the navigation application program was developed.The design of intelligent navigation terminal makes full use of the features of ADSP-BF533 processor, such as, efficient control of processing, ease of use and so on. The Intelligent navigation terminals in which the embedded Linux was used as the software platform, therefore, the portability and scalability is ensured for the system software. In this thesis, a good reference value can be supplied to similar design.
