Liner Frequency Modulation Continuous Wave (LFMCW) radar, with its numerous advantages including LPI and high range resolution has been widely used and deeply researched recently. In the first part of this paper, an overview of the basic signal algorithm theory and the working principle of LFMCW radar are presented, and then conclude its peculiarities. Attentions are also paid to the LFMCW signal's ambiguity function, range and velocity resolution, and the range-velocity coupling problem is pointed out emphatically. To solve the problem of range-velocity coupling for multi targets, frequency spectrum from the same target must be matching between beat signals from positive and negative frequency sweep. The method which solves the problem by making use of the similarity of targets'frequency spectrum is analyzed and discussed. Accordingly, computer simulation of the algorithm and realization in DSP were given. In addition, the kernel architecture of the Windows2000 OS and the way of developing a WDM driver for DSP card based on PCI bus were expounded. Its display and control platform application was also programmed by Visual C++ 6.0. |
