Because of the advantages of no range blind area, high range resolution, low signal power and simple structure, recently LFMCW (Linear Frequency Modulation Continuous Wave) radar attracted more and more attention. The theories, key technologies and application develop rapidly. Also LFMCW radar has the disadvantages of restricted detecting distance and Range-velocity decoupling. To avoid the radar's disadvantages, the hot research directions of signal processing concentrate on the new theory of LFMCW radar signal detection and estimation, the new method of eliminating range-velocity coupling, etc. With the development of digital signal processing theory and the increase of the digital signal processor (DSP) chip's performance, LFMCW radar's signal processing theory and the realization technology with DSP develop rapidly too. Based on the relevant research results, this paper involves the theory and realization of the LFMCW radar signal processing system. As an important part of the radar system, this work contains the project design, the research of signal processing arithmetic, the development of hardware, the software realization of arithmetic and the debugging of system. The main research work and results can be summarized as follows:Accomplishing the project design of the signal processing system of a LFMCW radar;Accomplishing the development of the data acquisition circuit and the hardware test of communication interface with DSP board;Accomplishing the design and simulator of the signal processing arithmetic, revealing the multiple periods LFMCW radar's optimum detector for target's return signals when the noise is of stationary white Gauss, adopting the method of "MTD-frequency domain pairing " to eliminate range-velocity coupling.Using the DSP board based on two ADSP-21160 and PC/104-Plus format as the hardware platform, this paper realizes the signal processing arithmetic of the LFMCW radar with assembly language. The results of software simulator and hardware debugging indicate that the work is effective and coincident with the system's demand.The research results indicate that the signal processing system is coincident with the radar system's demand in function. And the main parameters gained by test reach the radar system's design demand.
