| With the development of VoIP technology, many kinds of standards will be inevitably long-term coexisting. At present, VoIP protocols mainly include: IAX, XMPP, SIP and so on. Intercommunication among different systems has become the focus in the VoIP field.This paper first discussed the basic principle of VoIP, analyzed and compared IAX protocol used by FreePP system with XMPP protocol in InstLink. Then, the VOIP common gateway model is studied based on the heterogeneous, multi-network environment. Moreover, a solution of FreePP/InstLink gateway is proposed and illustrated from the perspective of requirement analysis, user address/ID mapping, logical and interaction design.This paper also contributes to building prototype experiment environment-a test network that includes the InstLink server and its user group, as well as the FreePP server and FreePP's user group. A series of tests are conducted to the gateway. The experimental results indicate that the gateway solves the system intercommunication problem very well. |
