Research Of P2P Technology In INSTLINK System

The server in InstLink system based on Client/Server mode mostly becomes the biggest bottleneck with too heavy load, the best solution to the problem is adopting P2P technology,the key is to design the system architecture and implement media data transportation by the peer to peer mode.This paper discussed the P2P technology widely and analysed XMPP core protocol, DHT, Chord protocol in depth. A new system architecture named P2P-XMPP based on Chord has been proposed to solve flaws in traditional XMPP one domain system based on researching in the InstLink system architecture and P2P network architecture technology, the P2P-XMPP system can implement load balance in servers and solve the problem of the one point failure. Based on the analysis of the current technologies of traversing the firewall/NAT, we implemented the ICE module in InstLink system,which can traverse most of firewalls/NATs to make media data transfer in a point to point channel . And the P2P-XMPP architecture can support a new application such as file sharing very well.
