The simulation of Nature is the hot issues and tough problem in the field of computer graphics and virtual reality research.With the expanding and deepening of application, People more and more care about the scale scenes,interactive simulation accuracy and performance.IN order to meet the needs of Virtual battlefield environment application,this article in-depth researchs sevel key technologies of large-scale modeling and rendering of natural scenes: Dynamic modeling and mapping clouds scene, Large-scale three-dimensional topographic map, Water flow modeling and mapping, The major work and achievements of the atticle are as follows:1.Presenting a triangle strips grid to describe DEM model and textures-mapping combined to generate topographic maps.2. Research and Application on the virtual scene dynamic cloud, the water flow effect of fog, light, and other natural phenomena simulation with the surportment of OpenGL lib.3.Research on the realization of the virtual scene roaming.Depending on these research achievements,I developed a large-scale natural three-dimensional modeling and rendering scenes of the experimental system including multi-types of Elevation of the land, sea scenes and the dynamic Cloud View. Graphics rendering mainly uses the dynamic texture-mapping and OpenGL technology, through control of the mouse to achieve real-time virtual scene roaming. The results show that the proposed model and algorithm can effectively improve the Authenticity of natural scenes and increase the real-time scene rendering and interactive applications performance.
