Basical Research And Application Of Basin Data Model Based On Geodatabase

Watershed information is the foundation of hydrological research and water resources management in watershed level, it is important to organize reasonably the mass of watershed information collected from 3S', Internet and DEM.This paper analyzed and overview the current development of the basin data model, summed up today's data model development as well. After systematic analysis of the basin, it sums up the basic elements composing of a watershed. Mainly, these factors include hydrological natural elements and human elements, they are: river hydrojunction,lake,reservoir,monitoringpoint,watershed,basin,river network,catchment,outlet,Land-use types, SAR data, Industrial and agricultural sewage outfall spatial data,Urban and rural settlements and so on, These elements are an important content and base. Based on the current popular principle in which Archydro data model uses to organize data and using object-oriented database processing technology of geodatabase ,it builds up basin data model with these data including the human and natural elements, which will improve hydrological data model structure and provide an effective and reasonable organization form of watershed data for hydrological simulation model; Meanwhile, it provides a good processing and storage means of data for construction of "digital river" through my research, made a meaningful attempt for basic research of digital river and hydrology. It also is good for studying the hydrological environment of basin scientificly,dynamically, timely, Systematically.Finally, with Mei Jiang as a model, build up a basin data model using natural and human data of Mei Jiang River hydrological data. In the data model, it indicates upstream or downstream relationship between hydrological elements of valley, spatial distribution of them,the shortest path of the river between two hydrojunctions and so on. Through the construction of basin data model, it can provide an effective means of data storage, processing, expression and is good for data organization of basin.
