With the computer network technology continuing development, vast amounts of information in the form of diversification, the traditional library has been unable to meet the people's demand, Internet-based digital library come into being. Now, however, the digital library system, in the organization and retrieval of resources means also inherited most of the traditional library, lies in a certain degree lower rate of the recall rate and accurate survey etc. Thus, proposing a combination of semantic description of the resources of digital library resources retrieval model and optimizing retrieval efficiency from the perspective semantic and reasoning are essential.In light of main problems of the digital library retrieval, in the thesis, some defect of traditional information retrieval means was analysed; then the digital library, the semantic web, ontology and search engine lucene were introduced; over analysis and investigation of traditional information retrieval on the basic principles, technology etc, combined with the specific characteristics of ontology, combination of semantic resource description framework and Ontology-based digital library retrieval model SDLM were proposed, the design idea and retrieval processes of SDLM were described in detail, and the key technology involved in semantic retrieval model was analysed and studied in a centain degree. In this thesis, the semantics of the resource description framework and reasoning techniques were organically integrated into the semantic retrieval model SDLM. Combined with specific issues, the rules of the field was expanded, semantic limitation of the SDLM model was made up, finally the semantic model after expansion was reasoned, and the effectiveness and feasibility of SDLM model were confirmed by example.
